How to freeze Bananas

Peel the Bananas Before freezing, peel the bananas. The peel becomes difficult to remove once frozen, so it’s easier to do it beforehand.

Slice or Leave Whole For Smoothies: Slice bananas into 1-inch rounds. This makes it easier to blend later. For Baking: You can freeze them whole if you plan to mash them later for banana bread or other recipes.

Flash Freeze (Optional) Lay the banana slices (or whole bananas) on a baking sheet in a single layer. This prevents them from sticking together as they freeze. Place the sheet in the freezer for 2-3 hours, or until the bananas are solid.

Transfer to a Freezer Bag or Container Once frozen, transfer the bananas into a freezer-safe bag or airtight container. Be sure to remove as much air as possible to prevent freezer burn.

Label and Store Label the bag or container with the date so you can keep track of how long they’ve been frozen. Bananas can last in the freezer for up to 6 months.

Now your bananas are ready to use whenever you need them! Just pull them out for smoothies, baking, or a frozen treat.

Freezing bananas is a simple way to preserve their freshness and make them ready for future smoothies, baking, or snacks.
